A Legacy of Devotion

Inaugurated by Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swamishri Avimukteshvaranand Saraswati Ji Maharaj in the presence of Mr. Pramod Sawant, the Chief Minister of Goa, and members of the Birla family.

The temple has been built by Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla, as a continuing legacy that the Birla family is known for. The temple is a humble dedication to his grandparents, Shri B.K. Birla, and Smt. Sarala Birla. Over 1500 craftsmen and artisans brought this glorious temple to life in 22 months.

Divine Architecture & Sacred Aesthetics

The Birla temple in South Goa has been designed based on the principles of "Shilpa Shashtra" derived from ancient Indian texts that define the principles of proportions, measurements, and aesthetics.

Built in the Nagara style -- one of the primary forms that originated in North India. The most striking feature of the Nagara style is the 'Shikhara', a curvilinear tower. Material used for construction: White Makarana Marble for temple; pink sandstone for Gate.

The design elements are inspired by Radha Krishna including elements like the Peacock, Elephants, Lotus, Tilak among other elements.
